Regular Meeting, June 13, 2007

(Picture: It was nice to be able to welcome Dave and Linda Grahek back to the Keweenaw for the summer. Dave reminds us that the famous Chip Drop contest
sponsored by their rotary club in Breckenridge, Michigan, will be held again on July 4th. Each ticket costs $5.00. Dave will have them at the next several meetings. More on the prizes later. Apologies for the quality of the picture. I am not competent with digital cameras…yet.)

Attendance:
17 members, 6 guests: Capt. Dave Cone, Dennis Bastian, Dorothy Rouhonen, Lilly Szilagyi, and Dave and Linda Grahek.

Announcements: By a vote of the members in attendance, the July 4th meeting is cancelled.

Program: Program Chairman Phil introduced our speaker…me…and I presented a little slide show of our shipping experience in Curacao and Bonaire in the Netherlands Antilles. Lots of questions followed and, frankly, I had a great time unburdening myself of this memory that shaped so much of my later adult life. After the meeting, I took Andy's advice and want to report that the pencils and cup brought in a handsome $3.25 until I was kicked off the street by the cop for not having a vendor's license.

Upcoming Events:

June 30: PastyFest concession stand. A sign-up sheet will be distributed soon.

August 18: The Tammies. Let’s fill that house.

Program Chairman, June 20:
President Dan Dalquist.

(ps. Thanks for the "comment" Tom.)

Don -

Great job on the blog - pics, summary of the meeting, etc. Very informative.

BTW - who was the cute chick in the second pic - looked young enough to be Tom's daughter. Does Sue know about her?
